According to the most recent information provided on Friday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 91 pediatric flu deaths have been documented in the US thus far this season.
The CDC estimates stated that the flu had caused at least 25 million illnesses, 280,000 hospital admissions, and 17,000 fatalities in the US this season.
In the most recent week ending January 21, according to CDC data, about 4,000 people in the US were hospitalized due to the flu. According to the Xinhua news agency, six kid flu-related deaths were reported this week.
As long as there is still flu activity, the CDC advises that everyone 6 months of age and older receive an annual flu shot.
